Club Activities
With the passage of time, many of the original members are deceased, and there are no more regular meetings of the Gibbs Bright Club in Melbourne or Adelaide.
History of Gibbs Bright
I have recently been able to add further historical material about Gibbs Bright to this web-site. Only the large, 250 page, Company history remains to be included. I will also add my own experiences of the Australian Building Materials Division in the 70s, as seen from Adelaide.
My apologies to Peter Hogg, who lent me his two books on the History of Gibbs Bright, and who is still waiting patiently for me to finish scanning them into the computer. Not long to go now!
Membership Information
Please be sure to provide your contact information for use on this site. We need your name, address, telephone number, email address and biographical entry for your "Web Page".
We will assign you an email address e.g. clive.pearson@gibbsbrightclub.org. All incoming email for you will be re-directed to your existing personal email address, so you will not be bothered with unwanted spam emails.
If you do not already have a personal email address, then we will open a free email account for you at www.hotmail.com. You may access hotmail and this web-site at a friend or relative's internet terminal, or at your local public library, or at a web cafe.
If you don't have your own internet connection, then I will be pleased to mail a set of very simple instructions for you to use any available internet connection. Instructions are enclosed in a plain, brown paper wrapper! Accessing the internet is very, very simple and it provides an amazing amount of information for any topic which you may care to select. If you're bored to tears, or wish to set up a hobby activity, e.g. manufacturing plastic dolls eyes or any other darned thing, then you'll find the internet fascinating. Don't leave it in the too hard basket, it really is child's play.
